Lowcountry Oyster Festival

Perhaps one of the biggest things that the lowcountry is famous for is there oysters! Every January, 65,000 plus pounds of oyster shells are brought in to feast off of. There is also live music, and fun activities to engage in, live oyster shucking and oyster eating contests. Held at Boone Hall Plantation, stop by to watch some of Charleston’s finest chefs have a great oyster bake-off.


Southeastern Wildlife Exposition

February is when the Southeastern wildlife exposition kicks off. More than 120 local artists and over 350 exhibitors join to demonstrate and exhibit their goods. There are wildlife exhibitions and demonstrations and interactive fun galore.


Charleston Wine and Food Festival

The lowcountry is also famous for its unique and exotic cuisine. The festival held in March is a four-day event hosting more than 50 various events including a wine tasting, a Gospel Brunch, an auction and a Sip and Stroll walk.


Spoleto Festival USA

Going strong since 1977, a 17 day festival hosts over 120 various music and dance performers showing off their spectacular talents.


Piccolo Spoleto

Created in 1977, The City of Charleston’s Piccolo Spoleto festival holds events for 17 days at different locations around the Charleston area. The festivities primarily feature performers and artists coming from all around the Southeast.


Fireworks at Patriot’s Point

What better way is there to celebrate the Fourth of July than on board one of the most historical worships in America. Climb about the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point, located in Mount Pleasant and have a front row seat to watch the fireworks set off accompanied by amazing music, all from the flight deck.
